5 Quick Ways to Lose Weight + Additional Tips

If you’re interested in losing some weight very quickly, you’re lucky to have found this site. Over the years of having to drop a few lbs. for special occasions, I’ve become quite the expert on losing significant amounts of weight in a short amount of time.

Here are some ideas:

  1. saunaLimit your calorie intake – try to eat as little as possible, if you’re looking for a quick fix (obviously this won’t work long-term).
  2. Drop potential allergens, such as wheat and dairy.
  3. Carbohydrates hold water, which equals weight. If you need to drop weight very quickly, carbs are not your friend. Eat less carbohydrates.
  4. Lower your sodium intake. Sodium makes your body retain water, so for fast weight loss it is advised to remove salt from your diet.
  5. Deplete your body of water by performing strenuous activity in the heat or go in a sauna for a little while.

Those are just some basic ideas for quick weight loss. If you’re actually interested in keeping it off, you’re going to have to take a more complicated approach….

Lyle McDonald’s Rapid Fat Loss Handbook

Lye McDonald is a nutrition and fitness researcher who is extremely knowledgeable about many topics in that arena. One of his most popular books is the Rapid Fat Loss Handbook, available here (please note that this is NOT an affiliate link – I truly believe that this is an excellent book and do not need his money).

In the Rapid Fat Loss Handbook, Lyle McDonald prescribes a “protein sparing modified fast,” which is a form of losing fat very quickly without losing a lot of lean body mass (muscle weight, organ weight, etc.) in the process.

He recommends a high protein intake and a very low overall calorie intake – I’m talking like 500 calories per day here. It’s not an easy diet, but it sure as hell works.

I’m also a fan of using green tea, as it is a natural diuretic. With the use of the right green tea product, you can skyrocket your weight loss and lose fat faster than you ever thought possible. Green tea works to empty the body of your water weight, which will help flatten your stomach and give you a more “toned” look.
